In April, 2012, the DayStar team won the AIAA Region V Student Competition. Nick Truesdale presented with the help of previous Project Manager (i.e. Prime Minister) Michael Skeen in Boulder, CO. Even with seven other CU senior project teams competing, DayStar won the cash prize and a trip to the national competition in Grapevine, Texas.
Nick Truesdale had the daunting task of representing the team and CU on the national stage today. He presented along with four other regional winning teams. While DayStar did not win first place, high scores from the judges made it a very close runner up. DayStar will regroup and focus on upcoming conferences in Breckenridge and Big Sky.
Note (from Nick): While you say daunting, I say amazing. Check out the Gaylord Texan hotel! I’ve never been somewhere this luxurious; I guess they do make everything bigger in Texas. There are, apparently, many fine perks to conference presentations.
